The name «LaFesta» can be decrypted in two ways. According to the literal translation from Spanish, the name of group means a "holiday". And if to decipher the name as an abbreviation, then LaFesta is "Lounge and Funk Electro STyle Attune". As it is obvious from the name, works of the group embrace several music styles at once. Taking the dancing rhythms of funky- house for a basis , the depth of perception from lounge, the improvisation of jazz and complementing everything with the electronic sound, LaFesta modified it all in the own sound (character). Every composition of the group exposes the spectrum of different musical directions and tendencies of modern music.
The idea of creation of LaFesta belongs to it's present leader - Igor Kuksenko, who worked as the stage-director of the documentary cinema and organizer of the youth art-project "Quarter" before the appearance of LaFesta group. There Igor became acquainted with a jazz saxophone player Nikolay Maystruk and they began to work jointly in a format: DJ and saxophone. For a full realization of musical project a woman vocal was needed. For the first time,the future members of LaFesta met in the restaurant of Angel Lounge, where Nikolay invited Olga Rossi to listen their performance. At that time Olga already was the victor of international jazz and opera competitions and had some concert turns in Italy, Germany and Poland.3 weeks after the joint concert of LaFesta group took place.
The first performance of LaFesta took place in June 2008 on an evening-party in the Kyiv restaurant of "Monaco". A month later a studio work of creation of the authorial remixes on world's hits started. The first group's concert turn was in a club format and took place in the south of Ukraine : Odesa, Yalta, Simferopol, Kherson… After half a year passed LaFesta gave 6-8 concerts in a week. In autumn 2009 the first invitation to come with a performance abroad, on the coast of the Japanese sea in Vladivostok was received, where LaFesta gave a concert on an evening-party in lounge - club "Clubnica".
